SAINTS TO SPLIT The future of All Saints is once again in doubt after reports that Nicole and Natalie Appleton have walked-out of the band. An official spokesman for the band, speaking to dotmusic today, would not deny the allegations that have appeared in UK tabloid 'The Sun', but said there is no official comment on the story at this time. The newspaper report states that crisis talks are being held today after the sisters reportedly decided they no longer want to work with Melanie Blatt and Shaznay Lewis. An argument over clothing has been cited as the reason they have fallen out, and the girls recently pulled a whole string of promotional engagements. A promotional tour of Japan and Australia was cancelled due to "illness" and then the girl's scheduled appearances on ITV's 'CD:UK' and Channel 4's 'T4' this weekend were called off. This was initially blamed on the use of the word 'ass' in the lyrics of their single 'All Hooked Up' but no official reason was given. A music business insider told dotmusic that All Saints and their management could well be holding crisis talks today (Monday January 8th) as Shaznay has been unhappy for some time that other members of the band are taking time out to have children. It is also thought that since recently signing a lucrative book deal the Appleton's may want to quit. There is still some doubt over the All Saints tour, which is set to kick off in May, but it's anticipated that the girls will honour their professional commitments and play the shows as planned. melanie blatt news | melanie blatt pictures | melanie blatt music |
